Are you taking care of your feet? Your feet are likely the most abused part of the body. We often jam them into ill-fitting shoes, and expect them to take us wherever we want to go. If you have calluses, it’s a sign that something is wrong. I’m going to provide you with a few home remedies for callused feet.
Before we go further, you should know repeated pressure and friction is the most common cause of calluses. The first step is to get a proper fitting pair of shoes. High-heels may look feminine, but they can be the cause of unsightly calluses and corns. It’s better to have healthy looking feet, than wear fashionable but uncomfortable shoes.
The most often used home remedies for callused feet is exfoliation. It’s not necessary to buy a store-bought product for this procedure. You can actually make it at home. In fact you probably have everything you need in your kitchen cabinet. When you exfoliate your skin that means you’re taking of top layers of dead skin. A callus is nothing more than a thick and hardened layer of skin.
You will want to use a safe abrasive to gradually wear off that skin. Many times, homemade exfoliators have simple ingredients that include sea salt, sugar, or wheat germ. Here are a few home remedies for callused feet.
This one uses brown sugar —
Brown Sugar Exfoliator
One cup of brown sugar, moistened with water
one-half a cup of petroleum jelly
You rub this mixture on your callus for 10 minutes. Then wash off.
Don’t worry if the callus still remains after 10 minutes. Most likely it will. It takes time. Gradually it will wear down. You can speed up the process by soaking your feet in warm water before the exfoliation session. Sand is another abrasive substance used in home remedy for callused feet.
Sand Foot Callus Remover
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
2 Tbsp. beach sand
3-5 drops essential oil
Mix the ingredients together. Massage feet and calluses. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and towel dry.
It doesn’t hurt to pamper your feet. Consider it as an investment. If you take care of your feet now, you will be much less likely to have problems down the road. Wear comfortable shoes, moisturize, soak — even massage your feet on a regular basis. Try these home remedies for callused feet, and even expand on them. Your feet will thank you by providing years of pain-free service.

Brick mortar is the material that is used to bind bricks or blocks together during building. Without it, there wouldn’t be anything to hold everything together in one piece. Here are the basics of brick mortar.
There are several types of mortar. Despite the varieties, all mortar is sand and cement at its core. While concrete contains small stones to add strength, mortar doesn’t in order to allow it to be smoothed down to be more visually appealing. The most effective applications of mortar are layers that are no more than ½ inch thick.
If you are going to build with mortar it will be most cost-effective to buy bags of unmixed mortar. These come in 40 to 80 pound bags. You can get smaller amounts of premixed mortar for very small jobs or patches. This will get very expensive very quickly if you have a medium to large size project. The bags of material will be mixed in a tub with water until it forms a thick paste.
The tools you will need include the tub to mix the water and dry mortar, a hose or bucket to deliver the water, and a garden hoe to mix the water in. You will, also, need a trowel to spread your paste mortar, a jointer to get your joints between the bricks smoothed out, and a hammer with a chisel for splitting some of your bricks. Some of the bricks will have to be split in order to have partial bricks to make the joints offset from the previous row.
As always, we should also, consider any safety hazards that could be present during our work. Eye protection should be used to prevent any splattered mortar from reaching your eyes. Hand protection should be considered to protect our skin. Also, if you will be doing work more than a few feet in the air you should consider protective headgear in case of falling bricks or tools.

In an time where fathers seem to be either replaceable or not necessary, we fail to remember that male role models are important for kids. A father is a important part of a boy becoming a trustworthy adult. These same dads are equitably necessary in the transformation of a girl growing into a complete and competent woman.
The first, last, and most important purpose a dad has in the life of a growing gal is to be the measuring gauge in which all other males that she encounters will be measured. This may not seem just to an unsure father or a timid male that is attempting to become a part of a girl’s life by dating her mother, teaching her, or becoming her friend but it has always been this way. A female’s father or father figure is the benchmark by which all other males will be gauged. She will eventually want a mate that she feels measures up to her dad. She will expect her male friends to be as considerate as her dad. If her dad beats or manipulates her mother, his mate], or herself she will expect males in her life to abuse and control her as she matures. A young girl’s father is the model that she will look for in new males that she admits to be a part of her world during her childhood and adult life. This, alone, should be purpose enough to keep competent dads interested and get good men to be engaged in starting up a connection with any girls that need a father figure or even a male mentor.
Not having a male mentor is alike to having a poor male mentor. A girl with no males to help mentor her has a much higher chance of unprotected sex, pregnancy, drug use, and dropping out of school among many other issues. No girl should be divested of the opportunity to have a relationship with her dad pending he is competent and mature.

The exact origin of the pretzel is unknown. Several claims have been made to the inventor of this snack but proof is lacking in each case. One claim is that it was a Greek bread. Another idea is that an Italian monk used them to reward children for learning their prayers. Even another version places the origin of the pretzel in Germany. Facts about pretzels are hard to come by due to lack of evidence.
Tracing the pretzel back through German history does return some interesting information. An encyclopedia that was published in Germany in the year 1905 states that the pretzel was created at Synod of Estinnes in 743. Whether this is true or not the pretzel has been used as an emblem by German bakers since the 1100′s and possible before that.
In the Catholic religion, pretzels were once associated with Easter and lent.
German immigrants brought the pretzel to North American in the 1800′s. The American version of the pretzel is thought to have it’s birthplace in Lititz, Pennsylvania. Many bakeries were opened in Pennsylvania by German and Swiss German immigrants during this time.
The hard pretzel is believed to have been an accident due to a batch of pretzels not cooking correctly and then being cooked again. Here you have some history of the pretzel.
